What is Electricity?

Electricity is a greatest technological innovations of mankind. It has now become a part of our daily life and one cannot think of a world without electricity.
It is a controllable and convenient form of energy for a variety of uses in homes, schools, hospitals, industries and so on. Almost whole the devices at homes, businesses and industries are running because of electricity.

The most asked question,

from where does the electricity come from?

you would like to know its sources to know it better. Electricity has many sources. As it can come from Non-renewable fuels, Wind Energy, Nuclear energy, hydroelectric energy, and photovoltaic (Solar) energy.

  1. Coals, when burned produces electricity.
  2. Wind energy is produced with the help of windmills.
  3. Waterfalls energy helps in the production of hydroelectric energy.
  4. Photovoltaic energy is the result of the sun’s rays.

if the electric charge flows through a conductor (for example, through a metallic wire), we say that there is an electric current in the conductor. Electricity flows in the circuits.

We will read that, how electricity can calculate, control, regulate in further posts.

Now the question is

What is the electric circuit?

a circuit is a path between two or more points along which an electrical current can be carried. (A circuit breaker is a device that interrupts the path when necessary to protect other devices attached to the circuit – for example, in case of a power surge.)

What is the Electronics?

Electronics is the branch of science that deals with the study of flow and control of electrons (electricity) and the study of their behavior and effects in vacuums, gases, and semiconductors, and with devices using such electrons. This control of electrons is accomplished by devices that resist, carry, select, steer, switch, store, manipulate, and exploit the electron.

We will learn about electronics in further posts.
